ArcMaps for Adobe Extension importing AIX Files as text or damaged file

New Here ,
Jan 27, 2023 Jan 27, 2023

I am trying to export an AIX file from ARCGIS Pro into Illustrator, the issue I am encountering is each time I go through File>Open and select my AIX file it is either showing a "This file is damaged" pop up, or it tries to convert the file into text. I have re-downloaded both Illustrator and the ARCGIS extension with no success. I have also installed older versions with little to no success. I have tried exporting the AIX with different settings but nothing has worked. It seems like an issue between ESRI and Adobe, but I can't find any information due to how limited the information on this conversion is.

Anubhav,

After some testing, it appears that the issue may be an issue with ESRI's exporting on my machine specifically. Someone else was able to open the file, but only if they were in an older version. The exact same export methods were used on each computer, but only thiers properly opened.

Both Arc Pro softwares were up to date, so the only direction we found was to completely uninstall and reinstall Pro on the machine and see if that fixed the issue.

Thanks

Hello @HWCGIS,

Sorry to hear about this experience. Would you mind checking if Illustrator also behaves this way with other AIX files? If yes, kindly try installing an older version of Illustrator (https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/downloaded-older-app.html) and check if it helps.

Also, try contacting the plug-in manufacturer to see if they know something about this.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav
