Artboard tool question

When you have the artboard tool selected and click on a piece of vector art, it creates an artboard to the size of the vector. Is there a way to have it do that but automatically add set amount of space around it?

Depends what you mean by "space" - you can set a bleed...

Go to File > Document setup.

Or set up the bleed when creating the document.

ok, yes. but thats not what I am asking for. I would like it when I use the artboard tool to create an artboard the size of the vector, it automatically added a set amount of bleed.
