Automating Bring To Front Action

Explorer ,
Apr 18, 2025 Apr 18, 2025

Hello!

I have a row of overlapping circles coloured red, green, blue, orange and purple. Is it possible to automate the reverse overlap please? Maybe using Actions?

Thank you so much.

As implied in my previous post, the Reverse Order command is only available when the objects are highlighted or highlighted and selected in the Layers panel.

If the objects are merely selected, the Reverse Order command is greyed out.

A bit confusing, indeed.

A built-in way is to highlight the objects in the Layers panel and apply the Reverse Order command in the Layers panel flyout menu.

before applying the reverse layer order form the layers panel, you need to release the layers ( release to layers sequence) in the same layers panel flyout menu

No need to first release to layers, but as Kurt suggested, just select them in the layers panel and use Reverse Order.

Thank you Mohammad and Kurt for your replies. I've tried your solutions but the Reverse Order option is greyed out and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I found another solution on reddit works.....

  • Select the offending objects.

  • object>blend>make

  • object>blend>reverse front to back

  • object>blend>release

Nor sure how this works to be honest. Would you have any suggestions on how to ungrey out the Reverse Option perhaps?

Got it thanks Kurt. It is indeed confusing. Not sure I knew that there was a difference between highlighted and selected. Thank you again for your help.

Can you show how your circles look in the Layers panel?
