I have a photo of people and have deleted the background so it is clear, saved as .PNG, and then placed it onto a colour background in illustrator. When i go to print it is changing the colour of the background.
It appears perfect on screen, but wrong when printed.
Attached is a photo of the print out, where i have moved the clipped image down on Left image and the true colour of the block behind is correct (just a top), vs Right Image, where i havent moved the clipped image and the colour behind is too dark.
I have opacity set to 100%, out of my depth now, if anyone can please assist and forgive my poor terminology
Thanks
Hi Ton,
Thank you for your quick reply, i think i may have solved it, but have replied to your questions below as well out of courtesy.
Solution: I have ticked the "print as Bitmap" option, which whilst turning pinks into purples, has given me the colour consistency for the background behind an image with a clipping mask and without. I just now need to choose a CMYK colour that will be as close to the colour i can get from on screen RGB.
In reply to your questions,

Is your Illustrator document RGB or CMYK?
How did you place the PNG, using File place, drag from the Finder, drag from Photoshop?
Is the image Linked or embedded?
Do you have color manegement turned on?

The Image was embedded. I adjusted the file to CMYK, but it was supplied to me in RBG. The finished print file was produced in Canva i understand. The PNG is embedded, Colour management is set to Let Illustrator determine colours.
Thank you Andrew
