As a prepress/preflight technician (for 25+ years), I am beginning to a a downward trend in quality art files. Messy, badly planned, badly executed files, with text that looks like it was image-traced by a 2nd grader from a 72 dpi PNG file. Are any of the newer designers out there getting any training at all in setting up final files for print and print production? Setups for 4/c Process vs. Flexography vs. Digital print? I get the idea that all the new art files I'm receiving are from amateurs who have no idea what they are doing.

Hahaha!
Graphic designers nowadays only know how to prompt for AI…
And most of the jobs are not any longer produced by graphic designers or art directors but by 2 years marketing cursus paper pushers…
The worst is yet to come.

You mean print design is still a thing? I thought that died when the iPad was released. 😀☺️🙃😜🤪
Take solace in job security. And ask for a raise. 😀 In another 10 years, no one will understand what you do every day.

I'm retiring in less than 6 years, so ... I don't want to see what's coming next. Actually, I'd love to leave Graphics completely now. Just get a Customer Service or Purchasing job. Leave it all behind for any one else to deal with. I'm done.
