Hi there,
I'm trying to batch save from a dataset and I need help preventing the saving from overwriting the same file. If I'm expected 200 files, it over writes it 200 times, but in the end, I only get one file.
I've tried fiddling around with the settings, however, whenever I select the checkboxes for 'override action save commands' or 'override action export commands', nothing happens after I click 'okay'.
If I leave these unselected and click 'okay' it proceeds to batch rewrite the same file over and over. Please help!
I am recording the following action for my batch save:
File > Save As> Adobe PDF
Illustrator version: adobe v 28.5

@francesl67683997 so, I did create an action and when I test it out to my desktop, it did save a new file. I created a simple action (see action.png). Also, you could try the script way too (see script.png).
I can't attached my action—it wouldn't on my end (aia file extension is not allowable?!)

Hi @creative explorer thanks for your help, the issue still persists. I tried saving an action, but the results still saved over the same file. I am unsure how to save a script.
I also kept in mind the guidelines from adobe in the link you sent and made sure not to change the filename.

@creative explorer One dataset works fine, it just saves one pdf file if I use the action. My issue is the batch save, it just rewrites the same filename over and over.

There seems to be a similiar issue in this Discussion: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/action-overwrites-files-help/m-p/1072...
Something about how Illustrator hardcodes the filename during the action recording.
