Question

Black not being black (RGB)

Hey everyone,
I've come across a problem that illustrator seems to mess up black.
When selecting both figures the swatch shows as the same data black (R 100, G 100, B 100) while in the preview it clearly isn't.

Things I already tried:
- with HEX (#000000), and CMYK (both C0 M0 Y0 K100 and C100 M100 Y100 K100).
- change appearance of black at "Edit -> Preferences -> Appearance of black" all to "Display/Output All Blacks Accuralty".
- Tried another version of Adobe Illustrator.

Hi there,

I hope your issue is resolved. If you still have issues, we'd appreciate if you could share a small video of your workflow for better understanding. A sample file would be appreciated as asked by Monika earlier. Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Ashutosh

Don't use the color picker if you want to get some exact feedback about color from Illustrator.

Select them separately and then use the appearance panel to check what is applied (transparency????). And the the color panel to check colors (in the appearance panel it is available as a popup).

Check both and they are both "black" with the same date (RGB/HEX), Transparency are both on "default" which is 100%.
This happens randomly, some are black and some appear as dark grey even though they have the same RGB codes.
