Blank black opening screen

Hi,

For a while when i open the illustrator it gives this blank screen. Deleting and reinstalling didn't work at all.

Sorry to hear about this experience. I hope the suggestions shared by Monika, Charu, and Met1 helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly try the following steps and share your observations:

 

  • Close all Adobe applications.
  • Rename the UXP folder to UXP.old
    (Windows) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP
    (macOS) Navigate to Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP
  • Relaunch Illustrator

Are you not able to perform any operation in Illustartor.? Did you try to open new document?

If you want to see Home Screen when no document is open, then check the checkbox under Illustrator -> Settings -> General.

Same thing here, except white screen of death on Windows. I have home screen enabled for Ai, latest version, have restarted my computer, uninstalled/reinstalled the program, removed all plug-ins and stuff, and it still won't open a thing. Id and Ps are working fine to open files

"White screen of death"? So the PC crashed? Or what are you referring to with the death?

 

Does it work with the setting Charu posted above?

Did you trash prefs? If that doen't work try using the Cleaner Tool to uninstal before reinstalling.
