I have followed the instructions provided by the print shop.
1) File => New 105mm x 148mm
Bleed => 3mm

2) File => Place and resize to fit the "box" to the red outline

3) Save as => PDF

Marks & Bleed
click "trim marks"

The print shop says that they don't see the bleed.
Opening as preview on Mac I don't see the bleed either.

Apple Preview is a toy.

If you want to do Preflight, you'll need to use Acrobat.

Hey Monika,
Thank-you for your suggestion. I should have mentioned and this is the real issue the print shop said that the bleeds are not showing.
They are not able to use the PDFs for printing. I have a number of files. The print shop can't use them; eventhough, I followed the instructions provided by the print shop.

Are they opening the PDF in Acrobat?

Can you please upload that PDF?

Yes please, as Monika suggested, share an example PDF file with Illustrator editing capabilities.

Thank-you for taking the time to help. 🙂

As mentioned, when I ask for a preview before saving it shows the bleeds.
The printshop isn't able to use the file.

Bleeds not cheeked: showed the bleeds.
After Bleeds Checked: shows the bleeds.

When I was in the printshop s/he, provided a file and how it should look. Based on what I am seeing now these images are what s/he wants.

Maybe it's a glitch...
I have to wait till Monday to see if the printshop will accept the files.

Your help and time is definitely appreciated.

Your bleed is extremely large and will cut off most of the image.

You say you need 3 mm, but you have 33 mm

I thought I had corrected that in the updated version.

Almost, you need to scale it so that all four bleed areas are filled, currently only the bottom uses the bleed.

Just scale it so all sides touch the red bleedbox.

Hey Ton, thanks for your help.
I had to fiddle with the Acrobat settings and set it to Acrobat 5.
Then I went into Marks and Bleeds and unclick use document settings. Set the bleeds to 3mm all around to get the bleeds.

When I look at the image in preview, I can see the bleed. Thanks for taking the time to help and at least provide some feedback.
As far as I can see the "Red Box" is filled.
