Blend Tool Isn't Working - Adobe Product Community - 12499404

New Here ,

I've attached screenshots. Everytime I try to blend the top two lines I end up with a line in the middle. I was able to blend using the bottom two lines using Smooth Color and Make. I'm unsure why I can't get the top two to blend. Help please.
