Bought file on stock.adobe and can't edit text

I bought this file from stock.adobe: 331340559. It specifically says it can be edited.  "100% editable."  I cannot find out to edit this text.

Hello, I've reviewed the issue and granted you 1 replacement license. I was also seeing oddities when attempting to edit the text after all the updates Illustrator required for this old vector. I'll send the asset to the content team for review. Thank you for the report and sorry for the problem with the assets quality.

Same experience over here!  I downloaded this one and can't seem to edit text.

Could you share more details, like the exact link to the Stock file you're using and screenshots of the layers panel and the problem encountered, so I can check it on my end?

This happens to me constantly with vector files. Says it's editable, I use a license and it's just a placed image in AI which is clearly not editable. Someone in Adobe needs to be screening for this.

    Which file type do you download? AI, EPS?

    How do you open the file?

    You need to open it, not just drag it into an open file.

    i downloaded ai file yet its still unable to SELECT or manipulate!!! help

    When you require people to save their Stock items as version 10 EPS, then this is what you get. The file is not necessarily old, it has just been saved to an ancient and confusing file format.

    Maybe this file has a graphic style for this effect (>window>graphic style).
    If there is an effect, type your text and apply the style. 

    There is a chance that the file author did not mean to expand this effect to make it not edible. But any stock requires an older EPS file version, which doesn't support graphic styles. So, try to contact the author and ask for a working file.

      I see this exact same file has come up before! And Monika referred it to staff then.

      @WendellaBee's response there was rather frustrating. It is obvious what any user would infer from the instruction text, and it is not what you find in the file.

      Can you check if it is a Graphic Style? Applied to outlines?

          The only editable text in that file is the text that tells you it is editable. The 'ESPORTS' logo is not text.

            That still has the Adobe watermark, so you downloaded the preview.

            If you bought it, they should have provided a link.

              Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. Could you please share the screenshot of the layer panel, expand all the layers. Also, please check the text is not outlined. Are you opening the .Ai file or .eps file?
