Bounding Box Visibility

Community Beginner ,

I am working in Adobe Illustrator CC 2018.

I apologize if this question has been previously discussed and answered, I can't seem to find the solution (searched for quite a bit).

Objects I create in Illustrator have a bounding box (handles, anchors...) everything seems alright. However, I can only see the bounding
box when the object is selected. Example, if I create a square, and it has no stroke or fill, I am not able to see it unless I click the
edge of that square. So basically I end up working blind, clicking all over the dashboard to find that square. So at times I have to do a
select all (Ctrl+A) to see where the no fill objects are (shapes, type boxes...)

Is there a setting in Illustrator I need to enable in order to fix this issue?

Greatly appreciated.

You will only see the bounding box with selected objects. That is default behaviour.

The bounding box is a text object. Please open the layers panel to check your document

View > Show bounding box is turned on?

When did you last restart that computer?

Show bounding box is on. I restarted it 10min ago.
I'm having trouble seeing the blue outline around each object.

Attached you can see an example of what my workspace currently looks like.

#1 When the objects are not selected. #2 When said objects are selected.

I must have confused it with InDesign then.
Haven't worked in the programs for awhile.

Thank you.

The shortcut for Show Bounding Box is Shift+Ctrl/Cmd+B

Try Ctrl Y to toggle into outline mode, you will see the edges of every object.

There is really not much usage for  a no fill or no stroke object. Even when I create masks I fill them with a color prior to making a mask, to help confirm layer order is accurate.

I noticed this option. Was wondering if there was a better one.

Thank you for the advise!
