Brush in Illustrator Chalk

When I want to draw with the brush in illustrator, the line automatically becomes a kind of chalk stroke. In my opinion, I just have all the settings right. Can someone help me? (Sorry the image is in Dutch)

turn off GPU performance (view > preview on CPU).

This is just an issue with the display. It’s not a brush effect. Do as Doug said and turn off the GPU performance.

Can you show a screenshot of the definition of the brush called "Standard" that you are using? What kind of brush is it?
