Brush tool swaps fill color for stroke color

I'm having a strange problem. I'm using the brush tool and changing colors often. I've got my stroke set to 0pts and no color. Every time I use the brush, it swaps my fill color to the stroke, sets the fill as no color, and changes my stroke weight to 1 pt. Ive tried setting my brush to basic, but it won't let me select that.

Never mind, this was a dumb question and it's been a long day. I actually read my own post and realized the problem is the brush tool being set at a 0 pt stroke.
