Brushes - Crashes

Is anyone having the most recent version of Illustrator (25.4.1) crash when trying to apply a custom brush style? Intel based MacBook Pro, Big Sur 11.5.2

Trying to clock back my version of Illustrator to 24.3 then causes it to crash when trying to save the file so I can send it to Affinity Designer so I can do something other than stay on Adobe tech support all day.

No problem with custom brushes in Illutrator 25.4.1

 

But good luck with custom vector brushes in Affinity Designer.
