Bug Report: Cursor Appearance and Selection Tool Malfunction (Illustrator v29.7.1)

Since the Illustrator 29.7.1 update two significant workflow issues have been encountered:
 
1: Inaccurate Cursor Display: 
The cursor appearance no longer accurately reflects the active tool. For example when using the Pen tool the cursor may incorrectly display as the Hand tool.
 
2: Selection Tool Glitch: 
The selection function also has a glitch which hinders the ability to select and manipulate objects effectively.
 
These fundamental functions are crucial for professional and efficient use of Illustrator and the malfunction causes considerable disruption. Many users have relied on this software for decades in professional settings. 
 
A fix for these core functions is kindly requested to be prioritized as soon as possible. Focus on ensuring the stability and accuracy of essential tools rather than introducing new features that may not be fully optimized.

Thank you for sharing the details about the cursor and selection issues in Illustrator 29.7.1. To help us investigate, could you let me know your OS and whether this happens with all files or just specific ones? A screenshot or short screen recording showing the cursor mismatch or selection glitch would also be really helpful.
