Bugs in Illustrator 27.4

The best 'New Feature' I can imagine for illustrator is a clean working core version without having to QA test the new bells and whistles for Adobe. I dread updating to a new version because it feels like a gamble as to wether it's going to negatively impact my work flow or not. Why don't you split into a stable branch version and a 'new feature' version so those of us that need stability can work without finding your bugs for you.

When would you recommend I take the chance on updates then?

Hi @nothanks75505351 @poptops_graphics,

I understand your concerns about updating the software and the potential issues that might arise from it. It can be challenging to balance the need for bug fixes and stability with the desire for new features. Your feedback is valuable, and we appreciate your input on this matter.

To minimize the risk of encountering issues after an update, I suggest waiting for a while after a new release becomes available. Keep an eye on the community forums and Adobe's official channels for any reported issues and their resolutions. By doing this, you'll be able to determine when it's safer to update based on the feedback and experiences of other users.

Additionally, I recommend regularly checking for updates and reading the release notes, which provide information about bug fixes, improvements, and new features. This will help you make an informed decision about whether the update is worth installing, considering your specific needs and workflow.

Lastly, always remember to back up your work and settings before updating, so you can easily revert to a previous version if needed.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have further concerns or need assistance with anything else.

Best,

Anshul Saini

I'd respond from the app IF I COULD GET IT LAUNCH.

I ran the update and had issues from the get go.

Keeps freezing up on startup.. So I rolled back to older version because I have work to do. Worked, kind of. But when I went to work this morning it won't launch.. again.

Maybe bug test these "updates" better before puting them out there.

If you experience new versions regularly not working on your system, then just don't update immediately. Nobody forces you to.

I obviously didn't explain myself well. The problem this creates is that you are having to update to fix issues from the last updated version. I would bet most people that use these tools on a daily basis are updating to get the fixes rather than hoping for new untested features.

Hi there (@nothanks75505351),

I completely understand that encountering issues after an update can be frustrating and can hamper your workflow. At Adobe, we are constantly working towards improving the performance and experience for our users. However, with new technology, there can sometimes be unforeseen issues that arise during the development process. We extensively test our updates on various devices commonly used in the graphic design industry, but sometimes exceptions occur on specific user setups. We are always committed to fixing any issues that are reported to us.

Therefore, please provide a detailed description of the issues you are experiencing with this release, and we will be more than happy to assist you in resolving them.

Regards,

Srishti
