Can I make this pasteboard, backboard, dark gray surface board.. whatever it's called.. BIGGER?

See attached image. AI2023 27.0.

Not the artboard, but that gray 'pasteboard?' thingy that the artboard rests on needs to be bigger.

I have to make this file 225in wide as a printable PDF. No ifs, ands, or buts.

How do I make that dark pasteboard area LARGER so I can re-size my artboard to the required 225in?

I just saved a 230 inch artboard and that is what Acrobat sees as page size.

Ok, that's interesting. I just need to create my AI file from scratch at 230in wide. Then it looks like it will export a PDF with trim marks to 230in wide.

Maybe a patch was sent overnight to my machine through CC. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe this helps, you cannot change a document to a large canvas file, but you can create one and copy your content in it:

Thank you. Creating a new one from scratch helps. I see it's 227in max.

But now when I try to export to printable PDF, I get this error -

You need pdf 1.76 or higher

Not sure what 1.76 means..

In my export settings, the max compatibility PDF level is 'Acrobat 8 (PDF 1.7)'.

Same error message when trying to export out PDF.

Using a large canvas document may help.
