Can I prevent Pathfinder from automatically grouping objects?

Any time I use a pathfinder function like Divide, Minus Front, Exclude, etc, the results are automatically grouped together. I find myself then having to ungroup them 99% of the time, it's just an annoying extra step to have to do over and over again. Is there a way to turn this off?
