Can't edit live corners after modifying unrelated parts of the path, sometimes

Loving the Live Corners feature, it's a dream come true. However, editability of the corner radius seems to be an issue. I'm working on a path with multiple corners, and even though I can adjust the radius of a corner, once I work on some other, unrelated part of the path, the live corners widget disappears from the corner I was editing (and no "Corners" field in the toolbar either). It's as if the corner was "expanded" into its two anchors and Illustrator doesn't understand it was a live corner anymore.

This must be a bug, because it does stay in *some* corners, but it disappears in more than half of them. I was even working on a completely symmetric shape and the corner widget disappeared on the right corner but not on the corresponding left corner!

Does this happen to anyone else?

Dear Illustrator devs, you don't actually need to track which corner was adjusted via live corners and which one wasn't. Just provide the widget on all corners that are arcs or beziers emulating arcs. That would both fix this bug and provide better editability for SVGs and other vectors created with older versions of Illustrator or other apps.

Correct answer Monika Gause

Are you working in a document with objects aligned to the pixel grid?

Edit -> preferences -> Selection and anchor Display

* Hide corner widget for angles greater than 177°

Done, but that didn't fix it.

Also, if that were the issue, it would never appear, it wouldn't disappear randomly, after editing a different bit of the path (or even a different corner).

which Version are you using ?

are you on the Latest update ?

you may Try:

Help -> update

if you are on the most current version:

Reset Illustrator Preferences Settings by pressing ctrl + alt + shift while running illustrator

let us know if that helps,

I’m on the latest version of Illustrator CC 2017.

I would rather avoid resetting my preferences, are there any particular settings that you think could be related?
