I was working with some images copied form my desktop when I decided to close Illustrator, a minute later I decided to opet in again to change some things and BOOM, I couldnt move any items in Illustrator using the mouse, I can only move them using the arrow keys. Even if I open up a new document and place in a new object, I cannot open it, so it is not a problem specific to my file. None of my objects are locked. I do not have any hidden dialouges. I've already tried restarting Illustrator, resetting my preferences, etc. I could move things before but now It just decided that It doesnt wanna let me do that, Windows error sound can be heard in the background but nothing else is showing up.

What kind of mouse is it? If you haven't already tried, physically unplug the mouse from its USB port and then reconnect it. If that doesn't work, try rebooting the computer. Are any other devices plugged into the computer's ports?

Hello @veljko_8925,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I hope Bobby's suggestions helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows) and using a different mouse to check if it helps.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,
Check the details below for solution:
This issue may be caused by an underlying system conflict or a temporary glitch in Illustrator. Here’s a quick fix to try:
Check for System-Level Lock: Press Esc to clear any system-level lock that may have been triggered accidentally.
Run Illustrator as Administrator: Right-click the Illustrator icon and select Run as administrator. Sometimes permissions can restrict mouse functions.
Disable Any Tablet or Pen Input Devices: If you have a drawing tablet connected, disconnect it and restart Illustrator. Sometimes tablets interfere with mouse controls.
Check Background Applications: Close any unnecessary programs that may be causing conflicts, especially those that handle clipboard or input functions.
Reinstall Illustrator: If the issue persists, uninstall Illustrator, restart your system, and reinstall it. This should clear up any software-level bugs.
If none of these steps work, try reaching out to Adobe Support as the issue could be specific to your system setup.
Thanks & Regard
