Can't open DWG files in Illustrator 2021

I have been sent DWG files from a client and cannot open them in Illustrator.  I'm on a Mac, running OS 10.15.17, and Illustrator 25.2.  I've tried Illustrator versions as far back as 24.3, and none of them can open these files.  Does anyone have a work around--I need to get these files open, and don't have access to the DWG file creator to ask for a different version.

    Have the same problem - on a Mac with  Illustrator 25.2.1 - get unknown error (2067) - need this fixed ASAP please!

      I have the exact same problem. I'm on a Mac running OS 11.2.1 BigSur with Illustrator 25.2. Everything worked just fine with the previous version(s). 

       

      Please fix asap! I use this function daily as I'm sure many others do.
