Just happened a fe hours ago - So I'm on a MacBook pro with 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5 Processor and 8GB memory and I was trying to save a file that is pretty large (32.9 MB) and it just got stuck in the saving process, it never completed.

I ended up have to force quit and when I tried to open the same file back up or any existing illustrator file it gets stuck in the opening process, I just see my spinning wheel on screen and nothing opens.

Also if I open a new file and try to save that I have an issue of it getting stuck in the saving process, again the wheel just keeps spinning but nothing is happening.

I've already uninstalled and reinstalled and I still have the same problem.

Hi.

Are you saving the file in a built-in Hard Drive or an external HD? Does that happen with any file?

Try resetting the preferences How to set preferences in Illustrator and checking the Hard Drive (fix permissions, fix errors, etc) with some utility.

Hi. 32mb is not that big... but you may have elements in the document/s that your computer is struggeling to process. How much disk space have you got free? Can you save a "simple" file like a circle?

I found out the issue.  I accidentally reactivated my iCloud and my files were being saved there which my iCloud is pretty much full!  So I just ended up deactivating that feature to save back on my local HD!  Thank you!
