can't save or export AI artwork

I have 2 new artwork that I can't save or export or anything. I'm trying to close AI, but then it asks me if I want to save first so as not to loose it, but when I click save, nothing happens. One artwork is a copy of the other (copy/paste). Please help!

    Please tell us your version and system.

    Can you try and turn off "Save in background" in the preferences?

    What exactly happens when you save? Do you just hit Cmd+S (Ctrl+S)?

    And what happens then?

    Have you added Illustrator to Mac OS System Preferences/Security and Privacy/Full Disk Access?


    how can I check if I have and do it if I haven't and should?
