can't see pencil path

Explorer ,
Apr 30, 2025 Apr 30, 2025

I can't see the pencil path. I use the pencil a lot to edit existing paths. I've never had an issue before. The existing path would remain highlighted while I edit it, and I would be able to see the path that I was drawing with the pencil. Worked great. Now I can only see the highlighted path that I want to edit, but I can't see the path of the pencil as I draw. I can still edit paths this way, but it makes it more difficult because the highlighted guides all disappear when I start to use the pencil, and I can't see exactly where I'm drawing. It is set to "show edges". I have turned smart guides on and off. I have reset my preferences and even uninstalled and reinstalled illustrator to no avail. Thank you for any help.

Which version is it?

If the most current version, take a look at the pencil options. Is LIve feedback turned on?

If so, you could try to turn it off. Perhaps it clashes with your GPU?

It's 29.5 (64 bit). Yes, I turned off live feedback and it is working how I want it to work again. Thanks so much!
