I've installed a variable font on my system through apples fontbook and removed it again via the fontbook.
I have installed a newer version of the font on my system and now the font appears twice in my Illustrator.
This issue only appears in Illustrator. In every other application only the new version of the font shows up.
In Illustrator the font appears twice in the dropdown menu. Both have the same name but one is the outdated one. When I favorite one, both automatically get favorited. The Design of the typeface is different though—so it must be two different files.
I tried a couple of font browsing apps and non of them show the old deleted font.
I've already cleared my font caches by restarting my mac in safemode and by using scripts.
Can anybody help me to get rid of this „ghost“ font?
Thanks in advance!

Iwould try to clean the font cache:
To delete your font cache, do the following: Open the Library/Caches/ATS folder. Locate and delete your font cache folder.

Which font is that? Some fonts are installed in the Illustrator app.

Thanks, good Idea—but it's a font I made myself. … unfortunately not preinstalled with every Illustrator 😄
