Can't write in Illustrator

Hello,

I'm trying to finish a logo but I can't get the job done because I just simply cannot write. The text tool is here, I can click it, I can create a writing zone but nothing appears when I type (see linked video, I swear I'm smashing my keyboard). I used the same machine to write this message so the problem is not hardware. Illustrator is up to date (v28.0, 8 days ago).

I'm taking any ideas.

FYI, this fixed itself after 5 computer reboots.

Glad you could solve it.

In your video when you are typing, the text overset icon (the red plus sign) blinks. I'm wondering whether you have some extreme line height or tracking values set up that prevent text from appearing?

I don't think I had exaggerated values. And now that it kinda works I won't try to troubleshoot again. I still have an issue where I can't export my file above a certain ppp now but before it worked completly fine. I think I'll reinstall Ai and try again.

I saw the overtext indicator too so I was suspecting ghost writting caused by a completly random bug.
