Question

Can you merge two vertices in Illustrator?

"Join" command works but that's messy if the vertices are in the same location..

Is there any "Weld Vertices" command or equivalent like you see in 3D programs?

Thanks

As I just discovered how to do this I thought I would post my solution.

The 2 endpoints (vertices) need to be exactly on top of each other. You can use the Transform function to do this by ensuring both the x and y position are exactly the same. Then use the Join command as normal and the result should be a single vertice join.

    FYI, the hotkey is ctrl+j.

See the pathfinder-panel (Window > Pathfinder)
