In the past i have had no issues with inserting images in any format to the adope illustrator app on the ipad and adding a layer on top to trace. Unfortunately of late i have not been able to do that as the image come as as a blank box.  i have tried to follow all instructions on the forum and i even noticed that it has been resolved so the subject no longer exist for discussion.  Please can someone share how they have managed to fix it. Please note i have reloaded the app / updated the softwear and the operating softwear and still no LUCK. appreciate your suggestions.

Could the iPad Illustrator app be in Outline View, rather than full color Preview mode?

Hi @Angee09,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please share a screenshot showing how the image appears as a blank box in Illustrator on your iPad? Also, are you importing the image into an older document or a newly created one? If it's an older file, try creating a new document and importing the image there to see if the behavior is the same.

Please also let us know if the issue occurs with all image and PDF imports or just with certain ones. If you can, share a couple of sample files where this happens, so we can test them on our end. If the files are confidential, feel free to send them via DM on the community.

Looking forward to your update.

Hello @Angee09,

Thanks for confirming. Could you share a small screen recording of your exact workflow and the problem, so I can try and replicate this on my end? Also, try downloading a JPG file from the internet to confirm if this happens with all files, and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
