Cannot open AIC files through illustrator after being duplicated (says online only)

Community Beginner ,

I work on social media posts using templates, the same fonts, colours and guides are used month to month so I usually just duplicate the file on the Cloud app, rename the file and then work with that file for the next batch of content. Recently I tried that and when I tried to open the duplicate file I received an error basically saying I'm not the owner of the file (screenshot provided). I havent changed anything and this had always worked, the only difference I've noticed is this file says "online only" which I noticed one or two files have the same issue when labeled with that. I am running illustrator beta and have already flagged a problem where you cannot open files directly from the adobe cloud using the beta versions and have to open files through the apps, but this is an entirely new problem. And yes I am aware that I could create a template for my file preference but this issue should still be addressed.

I Abhishek,

I've just updated this morning to version 30.0 and it seems the problem has been resolved, I was able to open the duplicated file through illustrator Beta. Thank You!

Hi @Keegan35548218sbey,

Thanks for sharing the details and screenshots and sorry to hear about the trouble. Would you mind confirming the version of Illustrator and the details of the OS. Please try saving a copy of the affected AIC file locally from the assets cloud document (Your work) and then open it directly in Illustrator to check if it works. Also, ensure that you're logged in with the same Adobe ID that owns the original file. Since you mentioned using Illustrator Beta, try opening the same file in the stable release version to see if the issue persists.

Let me know how it goes after trying this, so we can check further if needed.
Abhishek
