Cant move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large.

I don't what is causing this or how to fix it.

I exported a plot through Python / Matplotlib as a PDF, and this is how it looks.

How to fix this?

Divyanshu,

Whatever it is looks as if the bottom Anchor Points of all the columns have been selected with the Direct Selection Tool and ShiftClick moved (too) far down.

Presuming it was placed in AI, I believe the error lies in the source application.

Yeah, the standard max canvas size is 227" X 227." The anchor points on the bottom are dragged more than 500" according to the dimensions listed. It could be some sort of error or incompatible setting in the PDF export. If the error can't be fixed in the source application it might be worth trying to create a new AI document with a large canvas size, perhaps around 700" X 700" to see if the art can be pasted there and fit entirely on the art board.

I am using VSCode to publish these plots. I code in Python, and used seaborn / matplotlib library to generate this and save it as PDF.

get the eraser tool hold alt key and slice accross those tails to chop them off? or use one of the path finder tools to eliminate them if they are wihtin a compount path. or release path. scale to 1% and see if it all gets on to the canvas and move them up with the direct selection tool?

Divyanshu,

I believe you can do it as follows, Smart Guides being your friends and telling you when you are within snapping distance:

1) Create a vertical line that crosses all the long columns below the axis;

2) Apply Object>Path>Divide Objects Below;

3) Delete all the lower rectangles; now everything ought to be visible;

4) Select all the bottom Anchor Points of the remaining parts of the columns with the Direct Selection Tool, then ShiftClickDrag one of the Anchor Points upwards to snap to the axis.

That ought to make each of the columns fit between the axis and the top.

No-one should EVER receive this error. Adobe totally dropped the ball on this one. Sometimes you can have art as far off the pasteboard as you want, an sometimes not at all. I have never understood it, but we are large format printers and this bites us constantly
