Question

Center of rectangle in perspective dissppears

If I draw a line and a rectangle, the I can see the center of the rectangle and snap it to the line.

If I draw a line and a rectangle in 3point perspective. The I can't find the center point of the rectangle.  I can go to attitrubutes panel and select "show center", but as soon as I move the rectangle, it Illustrator very nicely switches the attribute off. Thanks Illusturator.  Anyway, after reading on the subject it sounds like the problem could be that my computer is slow.   A few years ago some people had problems with the center of their objects dissappearing and it had something to do with GPU.  I really don't know what this means, but I am guessing that if Illustrator runs into inadequte processor speed, then the center in perspective objects  is abandoned.

During moving or resizing perspective object the center is not visible. After stopping I am able to see point again. IMHO this setting is by default.

Hi @christopher5E7B20607242,

I understand that you're having problems with the center point of objects in 3-point perspective in Illustrator. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble, and I'm happy to help.

It sounds like your computer may be too slow to handle the center point of objects in 3D. Illustrator is a resource-intensive program, and it can take a lot of processing power to render objects in 3D. If your computer doesn't have a powerful enough GPU, it may not be able to keep up with the demands of Illustrator.

Here are a few things you can do to try to improve performance:

  • Close any other programs that you're not using.
  • Make sure that you have the latest version of Illustrator installed.
  • Update your graphics card drivers.

Here are some additional tips to help you improve your performance in Illustrator:

  • Use simpler objects. The more complex an object is, the more processing power it will take to render it.
  • Use fewer effects. Effects can also add to the processing power required to render an object.
  • Use a smaller artboard. The larger the artboard, the more processing power it will take to render the objects on it.

By following these tips, you can help to improve performance in Illustrator and avoid problems with the center point of objects in 3D.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,

Anshul Saini
