Hi,

I have a map with scores of streets names scattered all over it, and I want to GLOBALLY CHANGE THE FONT SIZE OF THOSE STREET NAMES.  How do I do that?

Thanks!

Yes, but to me it looks like that script is dealing with fonts at chosen pixel size, as if the text was outlined, it's not text at point size anymore. Or am I wrong?

Illustrator treats one pixel as one point

Did you assign a Paragraph Style to the names when they were created? If so, then this will be as simple as editing the assigned style.

This is a map I received from a company as a PDF file that I can open in IL and see the text. There is a ton of info there, in different fonts, besides the street names that are all in the same font. That's why I was expecting IL to allow me to choose the font that makes the street names, and reduce their size globally.

If the street names are the only selectable text on the the map, then you could go to the Select menu and choose "Object"..."All Text Objects".  Then modify the font or font size.

Maybe you can select all your text, make sur it is not grouped and use Object > Transform > Transform Each...

Thanks, Ton. It would take a long time to hunt each street name on the name of this big city.... I guess IL doesn't have the capabilities of InDesign as far as find & change...
