Changing the description from dimension tool

It's possible to change the description from dimension tool when you use it like when you wanna retype the dimension again?

So weird that you can't retype your own numbers. The only solution I found out is to Select the "Dimensions" > Go to Object > Expand Appearance

For most people it's pretty important that the dimension stays "live". Because only then it can adapt when you change the object.

Which version exactly are you using and could you you please be more precise what you want to do?

I just bought recently Illustrator 2024 and I use Illustrator for my license project to work and I need it desperate this tool to draw some dimension in my plan when I do drag and drop from AutoCAD to Illustrator.
