If I understand correctly these pattern is made in Illustrator. If so, you can edit that pattern by entering into pattern editing mode. In that case you will be able to change circle into hexagon and all other must changed automatically.

HI Jacob,

Thanks for your reply but I sdont thikngn that will work. I was hoping you could highlight the circles & edit shape to a hexagon but becuase there aren't enough anchor points I dont think its possible!
