How can I clear the recent files which I see when I'm opening Illustrator 22.1?

    Hi Aad,

Preferences > File handling & Clipboard > Number of Recent Files to Display (0-30) : 0

    Restart Illustrator.

Update Adobe Acrobat Reader to the Latest Version Win-10 Date: 08/06/2025:

    Version: 2025.001.20577 (64-bit):
    Step 1: Select "Menu"
Step 2: Select "Open Recent Files"
Step 3: Check-Mark all files that you wish to clear.
Step 4: At the lower Right of the Window/Screen is the "Clear" selection.  Click that and it will clear
    your selections from history. 🙂

You can turn off the Preferences > Show The Home Screen When No Documents Are Open.

I found this on Uservoice Clear Recent Files Not Sticky – Adobe Illustrator Feedback , so to clear recent history you'll need to clear Illustrator preferences.
