Question

clear translucent image appearing grey in illustrator

Hello,

I purchased this image on shutterstock. https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/translucent-sphere-shadow-on-transparent-background-1722030910

when using it in my design, if layed on top of any color background the bubble appears clear. However when I delete the colored background the bubble appears greyish/black. Is this going to print in this greyish color? Its an esp. file and I know theres issues with translucency.

Please help, thanks 🙂

Put a white object behind it. e.g. you can make a white circle the same size as the bubble and put it in behind.

will it print transparent

Not quite sure what you want to do.

Can you please elaborate?

Some printers will actually print white. But every one of your posts makes your problem more mysterious.

There always must be something behind that artwork.

It won't work as intended without a background artwork or image.

this EPS (not ESP) looks to be Grayscale – so its normal to appear greyish on a white background.

In your AI layout/design there are only vectors if you copy & paste the Shutterstock Graphic in it.

Did you try to print it for test?

Thank you - no I havent tried to print it. But curious why it shows up white on an orange background and then greyish when I delete the background.

thanks
