Hello. I want to use a clipping mask on a grouped object but whenever I try it all turns just white. When the object is not grouped it works with the individual parts of the group. What am I missing?

Don't group the house shapes. Select them all and choose Object > Compound Path > Make

Now they will clip the picture as you desire.

I want the houses to be filled with the picture. Image no.1: houses are grouped, I go on clipping mask and Image no. 2 turns out. Image no.3 happens when I don't group the houses and just mark everything.

Please show us something (as in the post above). The layers panel should be visible and the layers unfolded.
