Clipping Mask Tool Issue: Clipped Image Panning Instead of Moving Entirely

I've been using the clipping mask tool forever with no problems, but all of a sudden today, every time I move my clipped image, it seems to sort of "pan" over the original image instead of just moving the whole image to where I want it. In the screenshots attached, I placed my clipping mask on the left of the artboard, but when I moved it to the right, the whole image changed. I even opened some of my previous work and it does the same there. How do I change this? Was there an update I'm unaware of?

Make sure that you select the clipping mask with the regular selection tool (black arrow). If you select the mask shape with the group selection tool (white arrow with a plus next to it) you will get the behavior as shown.
