Closing Illustrator without Saving - Prompt to Save?

Working in Illustrator, if I go to close the screen without saving...

Sometimes it will ask me if I want to save, and sometimes it just closes and I've lost everything.

Has anyone else experienced this?

We are sorry to hear about that. This is not expected behaviour. I would recommend resetting app preferences. Please try and let us know how it goes.

Sorry for the bug, but the next time you can try this if you do not want to lose the work

Recover will only kick in after a crash. Not when you close deliberately.

Also: it might fail.
