I have used Illustrator for years and have never had a problem when converting to PDF. Now, however, the colors in the layers disappear when I convert to PDF. I just updated Adobe and am wondering if something glitched in that update.
Specifically, I have an artboard with color layers. When I convert to PDF, the outlines of the layers are visible, but the colors aren't there. Thanks.
I fixed the problem by uninstalling/reinstalling Acrobat DC. Apparently, the last Adobe update caused the glitch in Acrobat DC.
Thanks for all your suggestions. And Federico, Adobe Pro is a wonderful program you can use to create fill-in forms, track data, etc. It's far more powerful and versatile than Acrobat DC.

Would be interesting to see this and of course get to know your color management settings (general and the export settings)

Strangest thing. I just opened the PDF file in Adobe Pro, and the colors are there. But when it opens in Adobe Acrobat DC, the colors are missing. The Adobe Pro version prints out with the colors, which are missing in the Adobe Acrobat DC version. I hope FedEx has Adobe Pro!

Were the missing colors Spot Colors? If so, the problem could be your display preferecnes in Acrobat.
Try changing the overprint preferece under Page Display to Use Overprint Preview: [Always]

Sorry. I'm not very familiar with Acrobat DC since I use Adobe Pro. Where is Page Display? (And thanks, BTW, for your help!)

Could be overprint preview or a channel is hidden or other. Without seeing a screenshot have too many suggestions, and a lot more to type. Compare these settings, one of them must be different, between your 2 apps.

I found Page Display in Acrobat DC. The Use Overprint Preview didn't work.
