Color profile

I am creating vinyl decals and sending the files off to be printed. The colors do not come out correctly. I'm thinking the problem may be that I'm not saving the file in the correct color profile. What should this be?

Contact your printer.

They know what their workflow is, and how the files need to be prepared (including their Color Profile).

Just on the off chance that the printer dosen't have a preference, what color profile is best for saving pantone colors?

It sounds like a spot color to process color conversion problem. Did you proof the job before sending the files to the print vendor? Did they send you a proof? What are you looking at when determining there is a problem?

I did proof the job on my printer.

They did not send me a proof.

Just so I understand, you fed an RGB TIF into your printer?  What type of printer did you use?  Does the RIP convert spot to process?  Can you attach a snippet of the file?  What colors did you use exactly?  Typically, the print vendor's RIP would do all of the conversion work.  It could be your file was misinterpreted by the printer's RIP and/or driver.  What type of printer is the print vendor using?

Adobe Bridge, Color Settings.

Choose one of the available options that your printing partner recommends.
Press the application button.
Convert your design in Illustrator / InDesign / Photoshop to CONVERT PROFILE.
If there is a color change, adjust the colors.
Record this profile.
If the printing company carries out this profiler design, it will be harmonized.

What type of "files" are they?  Printed how?

The printer did ask for a profile.

Adobe RGB 1998 is an RGB tag.  Printer is probably printing in CMYK.  And, if they are, there should not be a problem.  If you created your originals using Pantone spot colors and Exported as RGB TIF files, then what you see on-screen from your originals is going to print differently because of the conversions.
