Coloring Note Paper Effect

Dear Everyone,

I have applied the Note Paper effect to text/shape in AI 2018 and 19 versions and cannot change the color to anything but grey. I've researched this and also see that this question was asked in the forum before - there is no way to change the color? I did see some some tutorials that seemed to change the color using graphic styles, but I'm not getting it to work....

    Note paper is an effect that uses only grayscale. So you can't change the color directly. You can try to apply the Texturizer/Sandstone effect instead of Note Paper. Or you can apply Note Paper to Fill instead of the Path in the Appearance palette and create a new colored fill above with the needed Blended Mode.
