Question

Colors change on their own?

The following problem has occurred on different computers, in different files and with different users:
Defined colors were changed over time in an AI file (RGB color space). The files were saved, closed, and reopened and edited on another day: Over time, the colors became darker and dirtier (see screenshot). Also the values themselves (HEX and RGB) changed, for example R232 G204 B162 turned to R214 G185 B138

Why does this happen? Version 27.4.1.

There have been more reports of these mysterious color changes during the years. Some of them have not been solved or can be easily replicated. If you want to share a file that has this problem, please do.

I would recommend to contact Adobe support, they can have a look into your system.

Nothing was copied from one document to another so it did not adress my problem. But still a helpful video in other ways. thanks...

OK.

Please tell us your color settings.

Which color profile is applied to the document? Which profile is set up in your Illustrator? Do you edit this file on different computers?

It looks like your document color mode is CMYK, not RGB.
If you created it using the "Print" preset, it's surely so.

Check this: File > Document Color Mode. If it's CMYK, change it to RGB.

The issue is that when your Doc color mode does not match the Color Panel color space, it tries to harmonize the panel values with the doc mode.

Document Color Mode is RGB... It was created using "Web" preset... Wierdly the color converted to CMYK looks nothing like the wrongly changed color. So it´s not just the color converted to CMYK...
