Hello, I am facing this issue alot. Please provide me the fix.

Scenario:

I created a new file in cmyk color mode.

I work with print so, made a swatch rectangle with black (50/50/50/100).

this is another file downloaded from internet. i copy and paste it to the document i made.

then i checked the color cmyk values of the rectangle, it is reverted to 75/68/67/90. i try to change it back to 50/50/50/100, it reverted back to same value 75/68/67/90.

help me out. thank you. i want universal solution

I can reproduce this when I first create a new file based on an RGB preset and during creation change to CMYK as the document  color mode. It will give you a warning, but you can ignore that.

Next time you create a document you can select it  from Recent (which will create a CMYK Document with converted RGB swatches) and it will not give a warning.

Somehow this creates this converting of CMYK values, it should not, but it does.

Check if the problem appears when you create a new document and select one from the Print tab instead of Recent.

I tried to replicate it with European color settings, but could not. But when using U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 the conversion started happening again.

Although the Color Panel and Color Picker show different values.

What name do you see when you double click the Red swatch in your Color Panel?

Before you copy and paste, can you turn on the checkboxes that will warn you for Profile Mismatches and Missing Profiles in the Color Settings?

First of all, you should change the CMYK COlor Management policy to Keep color values (ignore profiles).

Then: can you check the color profile of your document before and after pasting that object from the other file?  And: which version of Illustrator is this?

If the file has been changed, these methods will not change it back.
