Colours / Eyedropper tool displaying wrong colour in Ai

New Here ,
Jul 05, 2021 Jul 05, 2021

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with my colours in Ai.

When I drag an image into Ai to colour select, the eyedropper picks colours that are way brighter than what I'm selecting. But then when I open up my colour picker, it looks like the colour is picked is actually right.

Once I drop that colour into the object I want, it still comes up way too bright - so, a dispay issue?

I'm using shift when eyedropping and no difference. I've played with my colour profiles to favour RGB (I don't use CYMK ever) and it still doesn't seem to work. I have also enabled screen recording via security settings.

I don't know if it's a display issuse as the screenshots I drag in to sample are appearing as the correct colour from the screen shot. HELP!

If you use any color profile you have to assign and use it in the proof preview of course.

Try to place the images embedded instead of linked.

When placed linked, Illustrator picks up the colors from the preview, when embedded, Illustrator has access to the real values.

It is useful to turn on the checkboxes for Profile mismatches in your color settings.
