Combine paths together to create perfect outline (for cutting it with plotter)

I am trying to combine several paths together so the outline will form the perfect cutting line. But I keep getting the error message: The selected objects cannot be joined together as they are invalid objects.

The the picutres you can see the E i need to comine all layers together so it will form one outline in stead of four indivudual objects.

Open Window > Pathfinder and click on Unite (top left)

There's a lot to learn with Illustrator. But once you have the Pathfinder, then you can already do a lot with the app. Particularly for your plotter
