Contour Lines in PS and AI - how do I make the hand drawn lines finer / thinner?

Hi, I am new to this forum site and have used AI and PS for my design work for about a year (beginner to Intermediate level).

I create hand drawn designs and then make the necessary adjustments digitally to make them compatible for logos / printing / whatever the purpose.

I have been struggling to make some drawings have thinner and finer outlines as per clients request, (having spent days hand drawing these, I now just want to do this with Adobe programmes).

I have tried everything from image AI trace options.....selecting the lines then changing the border in PS......plus various image options like image contouring and playing around with the levels. (The images are botanical so trying to still keep them looking as natural as possible).

Wondered if anybody on here is able to assist please as can't see how else to do this?

Thank you
