Converting outlines on a SVG font

Found posts here on making something SVG, but I want to get rid of the SVG. 🙂

I have this fantastic looking font in my Illustrator (29.0.1) that has an SVG version. I want to create outlines on the SVG font (looks way better than its Vector version of font), but I get just bounding boxes around the letters.

What's the trick?

Select the font. Hit ungroup. Then release the clipping mask. Image Trace, Expand.

It looks like there might be a clipping mask, and your letters are masking a texture. Right click and see if you can "Release Clipping Mask".

If that works, you'll seperate the texture and the actual shape of the letter.

Nope. No clipping mask on the font.
