Copy and Paste Clip Group Loses Color

When I copy an elaborate clip group and paste it into a different document, it turns from multiple colors to white. I'm a newbie here so please understand my lack of even some of the basics. If this helps, the clip group has a path and a group with meshes and multiple other groups with meshes nested in it. Any suggestions for what I can try?

In the layers panel, some objects appear with am empty circle, some paths while meshes show a filled circle that suggests those items have some effect, transparency or transparency mode applied.

If you can share that clip group that would show the answer. Meanwhile, can you please tell us waht says the tab beside the file name and zoom %, it's an RGB file? And the file where you get all items white is RGB too, or CMYK ?

Thanks again for your help! This was the answer to my problem. One was in CMYK and the other in RGB. I never knowingly switched that in document creation and wouldn't have even thought it would make a difference. I feel so much better knowing this. Thanks!

(Some) Transparency modes do not work the same way or produce the same results in an additive (light) model and a substractive (inks) model. Colors added in RGB produce white (light) while in CMYK get black (inks).

Thanks again for everyone's time. I'm not entirely sure that I have the right view of what you want from the layers panel. Here is is with the group I want selected. The files inserted here in a different order than I thought they would. The top 2 are from the group I am trying to copy from. The bottom 2 is from the file I pasted to.

Try "Flatten Artwork" in Layer Panel –  Then Select All>Copy>Paste into new Document.

A newbie doing some complex work/ Bravo.

Well maybe you are not slecting properly the Clip gropup,

What happens if you select it and paste into the same artboard, Ctrl/Cmd + V ?  Does it display properly, as a perfect copy of the original?

If it works, open anotehr new file and Paste again. Does the problem appears now?

I think that maybe you are not slecting the group

Check th icon at bottom of teh Tool bar is selected: Draw Normal, and slect using the Slection tool and clicking once inside the group.

If everything is right, the Clip Group should show in the Layers panel a double circle at right, and a blue point, and below blue points for each item in the Clip Group.

Thanks for your time. It does copy and paste fine into the same file. It's any other file I put it in that it turns white. It was created in a different file by someone else. So, what I have done is rename the file every time I need to use it and delete everything else and start from scratch. I'm sure there's a better way to do it.

If you have both files open, and Select View>Outlines (Ctrl/Cmd+Y) show the same lines, paths? or anything is missing?

As mjblet suggests you, please attach a capture of your Layers panel, with the group selected, on both files. Thanks.
